Injection Molding First Article Inspection — On Site

First article inspection decides project success. We come on site with process setup, measurement and documentation.

20+ Years First Article Experience

We identify process risks early and translate machine observations into concrete actions.

On-Site Measurement

Dimensional inspection, visual inspection and process evaluation directly during sampling.

PPAP / FAI Documentation

Measurement values, process parameters, material data and approval documents to customer standard.

Independent Assessment

We sell no tooling of our own, but assess process and part independently.

What does a professional first article inspection include?

A first article inspection report (FAIR) documents whether a newly manufactured part meets all requirements defined in the specifications. For injection molded parts this typically includes dimensional inspection, material proof, surface inspection, functional test and documentation according to VDA 19 or IATF 16949.

SwissInjection carries out first article inspection directly at your facility. We bring our own measurement equipment, record all measurement points on the part and prepare the FAIR to your specifications — standards-compliant and audit-proof.

When is a first article inspection required?

A first article inspection is always required when a new injection mold is produced for the first time, an existing mold has been modified or repaired, a supplier change takes place, new material batches are introduced, or regulatory and customer requirements demand a documented series release.

In particular in medical technology, automotive and electronics, documented series release via FAIR is an indispensable prerequisite for production approval. Without a valid first article report, many OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers will not accept delivery.

Our approach on the inspection day

We plan the sampling appointment together with you and your toolmaker. On the inspection day we are on site with calibrated measurement equipment (calipers, dial gauge, profile projector). Measurements are taken on at least five parts from running production under series parameters.

Deviations are immediately documented and evaluated. The completed FAIR is delivered to you digitally within 24 hours of the appointment. On request we also prepare English-language versions for international customers or supplier audits.

Prepare sampling

Upload drawings, quality requirements and existing measurement reports. We plan workflow, documentation and on-site support.
