From symptom to root cause

A visible injection molding defect is rarely caused by one parameter alone. Sink marks can be linked to packing, cooling, wall thickness or gating. Flash can be influenced by clamp force, tool condition, viscosity or venting. Analysis therefore starts with a hypothesis that is checked on the real part and against process data.

On multi-cavity molds, individual cavities often show different fill patterns, weights or dimensions despite identical machine parameters. Causes are frequently gate/cooling balance, mold temperature control, or wear on a specific cavity. We compare cavity-by-cavity data rather than only the average, so corrections target the right cavity instead of shifting the whole process.

Can everything be solved remotely? No. Photos, data and videos help initial assessment; complex process-window or tooling issues often require work at the machine.

Why parameter history matters

Process problems often recur in a modified form - after tool maintenance, a supplier change or a machine move. A documented parameter history with reasoning shortens the next analysis, since known causes can be ruled out first.
